K–10 Geography syllabus development

Consultation in 2014

The former Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards NSW (BOSTES) conducted consultation on the Geography K–10 Draft Syllabus in 2014.

Consultation 2011–2012

During 2011-2012, The Board of Studies NSW consulted on the draft Australian curriculum for Geography.

Consultation in 2010

During 2010, the Board of Studies NSW consulted on the draft shape paper for Geography.

The draft shape paper for Geography was released by ACARA for national consultation. Read the New South Wales response to the draft Shape of the Australian Curriculum: Geography (PDF, 10 pages, 140 KB) Published 29 October 2010

The final Shape of the Australian Curriculum: Geography was published by ACARA in January 2011. The shape paper presents an outline of the K–12 curriculum, guiding writers in the development of the draft Australian curriculum.

K–10 English, Mathematics, Science and History syllabus development

Consultation in 2011–2012

The Board of Studies NSW conducted two rounds of consultation on the draft K–10 syllabuses. Consultation on the first version of the draft syllabuses was conducted from 1 August 2011 to 16 September 2012. Consultation on the second version of the draft syllabuses was conducted from 13 February to 30 April 2012.

Consultation in 2010

During 2010, the Board of Studies NSW conducted consultation on the draft Australian curriculum for K–10 English, Mathematics, Science and History, focusing on the suitability of the draft curriculum and its implementation in NSW schools.
