Independent audits into the Special Examination Provisions
2011 Ellis and Johnson Report
Purpose
Damian Ellis and Beverley Johnson, former school principals, were engaged by the Board of Studies NSW to undertake an external review of the disability provisions program for the Higher School Certificate examinations. In particular, the views of principals and teachers who are responsible for lodging applications and implementing decisions of over 60 schools were consulted in the course of the review.
The review made a number of recommendations in the context of a commitment to continuous improvement. All but one – the recommendation to change the name of the program – have either been implemented or work is proceeding on their implementation.
